Anna Fifield

Anna Fifield is the editor of the Dominion Post newspaper and the Wellington editor at Stuff, and lives in Island Bay with her 11-year-old son. She returned to New Zealand in 2020 after 20 years as a foreign correspondent for Washington Post and the Financial Times, posted across Asia, the Middle East and in Washington DC. She has reported from countries including Iran, Syria, Libya and North Korea, and was a Nieman journalism fellow at Harvard, studying how change happens in closed societies. In 2018 she won a Stanford University prize for her reporting on Asia, and in 2019 published a book about Kim Jong Un, The Great Successor, which is now published in 24 languages.
