James Brown

James Brown settled in Island Bay in 1998 but in many ways has yet to arrive. He does not drink coffee, own a car, a dog, or partake in home renovation. He writes poetry. His Collected Poems was published by VUP in 2020 and a new collection entitled The Tip Shop will be published sometime this year. 

He also writes for children and convenes the Poetry Workshop at the IIML, Victoria University. 

He gives thanks to Island Bay and his family and acknowledges their tolerance.
